Use this Famous Explorers KS1 History pack to introduce your class to two intrepid explorers (and a few more!) with this scheme of work for Year 1 and Year 2. Your class will meet Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong, investigating why they are remembered today, what they achieved and how they are similar to or different from each other. This lesson investigates Columbus' famous voyage of 1492. Children will be reminded that Columbus was trying to find a quick way to get to Asia before discovering where he actually ended up!
