The second lesson in this vehicles series of lessons explores wheels, axies and chassis with your Year 2 class. The lesson looks at the ways that wheels and axles can be combined, as well as how axles can be attached to the chassis to make the framework for a vehicle.
Your class will have the chance to investigate axles, wheels and chassis for themselves as they use a variety of different materials to make the framework of a vehicle.

#Lesson3Bodywork
The third lesson in this Year 2 vehicles DT lesson will teach your class all about vehicle bodies. They will think about different vehicles and how the function and design of their bodywork varies. Your class will be given the chance to explore how to combine different materials, such and boxes, card or bottles, to create the body for a vehicle. They will also begin to think about how their vehicle could be decorated.

This design a vehicle KS1 lesson consolidates all the learning your Year 2 children have undertaken so far in this series. They will take part in desicussions before they design their own vehicle. They will choose how they will construct the chassis, what kind of wheels and axles to use, how they will create the body of the vehicle and how they will make it look fantastic!
