They will then explore the sliding mechanism themselves in their independent activities, making a variety of simple moving pictures with different jungle animals using the resources provided.

To begin this Levers KS1 lesson, children are shown a moving picture that uses a lever and pivot mechanism, and are challenged to explain how they think it works.
As a class, children will then explore and discuss how it has been made, looking at how to hide the lever at the back of a picture too. Children then use the resources provided to create their own moving pictures of jungle animals using the lever and pivot mechanism.
