Learn all about the Guy Fawkes story, finding out who he was and why he decided to leave England and join the Spanish army. This lesson recaps the religious tensions in England during the reign of King James I, before explaining how Guy became involved the plot. Your class will be challenged to form a conscience alley and help Guy decide if killing the king would be the right thing to do.

The final lesson in this series encourages your class to think about and answer the question 'Why do we celebrate Bonfire Night?'. It recaps what your class have found out about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot, and gives them the opportunity to record the story in their own words. Alternatively they will be able to read and perform the 'Remember, Remember' poem and think about how it conveys the historic tale.
