Across five engaging lessons, children travel back to 1605 to discover what happened during the Gunpowder Plot, who Guy Fawkes was and why a group of plotters planned to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
Children will explore life in the Stuart era, investigate the religious tensions between Catholics and Protestants and learn how Guy Fawkes became involved in the plot. They will sequence the events of the Gunpowder Plot chronologically and explore how and why the events of 5th November 1605 are still remembered through Bonfire Night today.
