This lesson focuses on ordering positive numbers with up to two decimal places to 10,000,000. The children will be challenged to order groups of four numbers. During the plenary the children will order race times from the Olympics and find the difference between different competitors' times.

During this lesson your class will find the difference between positive numbers. The slides go through examples of how to calculate the difference between large numbers before challenging children to have a go independently. There is also the option of timing sports events and finding the difference between their times and distances.

In this lesson your class will apply their knowledge of finding the difference between two numbers when calculating intervals across zero. Your class will be introduced to negative numbers through temperatures. For the teaching input, the slides model finding the difference using a number line to support the children as they travel across zero. During the lesson they will either find the difference between a variety of temperatures or explore the difference in height between land areas that are above and below sea level.

The final lesson in this series gets your class to apply the skills they have used this week to solve practical problems.
