Introduce your KS2 class to the world of sculpture with this 'Art in the Community' lesson pack. Children will begin by exploring existing sculptures and then progress to designing and making their own maquette of a sculpture for a specific location in the local community!

Over the course of six fully prepared lessons, your class will find out about common materials used in sculpture, as well as the skills, tools and techniques needed to turn them into works of art. They will explore the materials and practise the different joining techniques they could use before making a maquette of their final sculpture design, which they will present, analyse and evaluate as a class.

Each lesson pack comes complete with a detailed plan, an engaging and informative set of PDF slides for the teaching input, as well as a range of printable resources to support your class with their independent learning.

This scheme of work is also part of a Topic Bundle. Perfect if you are teaching about 'Settlements' as a cross-curricular topic!
