This lesson looks at a palette knife artist, Leonid Afremov. Children will view stunning cityscape paintings created with palette knives and bright, bold colours. Some cityscapes show reflections on water and children will learn about some famous cities around the world that are built on and around water. They will learn how to paint with watercolours to create different effects to help them in their artwork. Your class will love the activity in the lesson which requires them to paint a cityscape through a bottle of water, to show its reflection. There is also the chance to use mirrors to create reflections of some famous Asian buildings.
