#Lesson1Whatisabstractart
Find out all about the life and works of Kandinsky, including the artists who influenced him and the ways in which his style changed over time. This Kandinsky abstract art KS2 lesson will challenge your children to consider what 'abstract' means, the effects of abstract art on the viewer, and how they might begin to create their own abstract works of art.
Depending on whether you choose to teach all three Kandinsky lessons in sequence or as standalone lessons, there's a choice of differentiated activities, with printable resources for each included!

#Lesson2Expressingsoundsandfeelings
Find out all about Kandinsky's 'language' for art – a way of expressing sounds, feelings and ideas through his use of colours, shapes and lines on the canvas. Children will consider the ways in which they may associate colours and shapes with sounds, in particular, then develop ideas on paper or in sketchbooks for their own music-inspired, abstract work of art.
