This The Worrysaurus KS1 PSHE lesson introduces your class to the importance of recognising and talking about worries and feelings. Based on the story by Rachel Bright, the lesson explores how worries can sometimes grow bigger if they are kept inside, and highlights simple ways children can manage anxious feelings and seek support from others.

Lesson 1: The Worrysaurus

This Standalone PSHE lesson has been created to help your KS1 children to recognise the sensation of worry, and to begin to develop ways of coping with this feeling.

Using the book ‘The Worrysaurus’ by Rachel Bright as a stimulus, your class will be encouraged to think about what a worry feels like in their body. They are challenged to discuss the strategies the Worrysaurus uses to feel safe and manage his worries. Please be aware that, for copyright purposes, we are unable to provide the text for this scheme of work.

This The Worrysaurus KS1 Standalone lesson pack includes an easy-to-follow plan, a set of engaging PDF slides for the teaching input, differentiated activity ideas and printable resources.
