After exploring the front cover, the blurb and the first page of The Great Pet Sale, children will make predictions as to what they think the book will be about. Together as a class you will then read the book, and over the next two lessons, children will show their understanding by retelling the story and answering comprehension questions. Using their knowledge of the book, children are then challenged to plan and write a fictional recount about their own visit to the great pet sale!

Each of the lessons in this The Great Pet Sale Resources Pack includes an easy-to-follow plan, a set of engaging slides for the teaching input, differentiated activity ideas and printable resources.

  • free overview (medium-term plan) ...
