In this Commas in a List Year 2 lesson pack inspired by 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch', children will firstly see what they can remember about the story with a short quiz about the main events.

They will then learn to use commas to list the delicious food in Mr Grinling's lunch basket, remembering of course to use 'and' between the last two items! Your Year 2 class will be shown how adjectives can be used to make their sentences with commas more descriptive. In the main part of the lesson, children will write various 'commas in a list' sentences inspired by the story.
