This Noun Phrases Year 2 lesson pack focuses on the noun phrases in the poem ''Twas the Night Before Christmas'. The lesson input slides challenge the children to identify nouns and adjectives and describe what they are. They then use the examples they have provided to build Christmas-themed noun phrases, discussing what these are. They then work as a class to find the existing noun phrases in the poem.

The accompanying printable resources challenge the children to independently build and write their own noun phrases and write them into full sentences. This lesson pack includes everything you need to teach your class about Christmas-themed noun phrases.

I was very tired after the end of a very long half term all online, through virtual school. With my staff down also due to COVID and with poetry looming, these resources were perfect for us while understaffed and online in teaching poetry and Christmas all in one! We used the worksheets either for parents to print at home or for children to access through our online platforms with touchscreen. Perfect thanks!
