Help pupils understand the world around them—and their place within it—with PlanBee’s Education for Social Responsibility (ESR) Curriculum Pack. Covering Years 1 to 6, this unique whole-school scheme supports children in developing the knowledge, skills and values they need to become thoughtful, responsible members of society.
Through age-appropriate, enquiry-based lessons, pupils explore seven strands of learning: ethical trade, biodiversity, climate change, ecosystems, finite planet, water scarcity and fulfilled lives. They revisit each of these strands in KS1, lower KS2 and upper KS2, building their knowledge, skills and understanding as they travel through each phase. The curriculum is designed to build awareness, empathy and critical thinking, encouraging children to reflect on their responsibilities to themselves, others and the planet.
Each three-lesson unit is fully planned and resourced, making it easy for teachers to deliver meaningful lessons that promote citizenship, social justice and global awareness, either as part of your PSHE provision or as a standalone subject.
What’s Included:
Complete ESR curriculum across KS1 and KS2
3 progressive schemes of work per phase for each of the seven strands (ethical trade, biodiversity, climate change, ecosystems, finite planet, water scarcity and fulfilled lives)
