The first lesson in this series focuses on consolidating your class's understanding of using number lines to solve problems. Through hands-on activities your class will match number lines with pictures to number sentences to solve addition and subtraction problems.

Solving one more and one less problems
In the second lesson of this series your class will record jumps of one on a number line to solve problems. They will be encouraged to think carefully about the direction they need to jump along the number line. Your children will have the opportunity to use numbered, tabbed or blank number lines.

Solving number sentences

Finding the difference on a number line
